Our Carbon Fibre Aero-Screen is designed to perfectly fit the shape of the Westfield and similar scuttles, making installation quick and trouble free. The aero-screen will use the same mounting points as and OEM Westfield aero-screen if you already have a GRP one.
The Carbon Fibre Aero-Screen is manufactured from the same high quality genuine 2/2 twil, 3k carbon fibre used in all our carbon fibre products. It is chemical, temperature and U.V. resistant and has a high-gloss surface finish to accentuate the carbon weave. Woven E-Glass provides additional reinforcement.
Why Fit an Aero-Screen?
Aero-screens are fitted to kit-cars as an alternative to a conventional windscreen.
As the name suggests, the smaller, lower aero-screen is more aerodynamic than a full windscreen, reducing drag and significantly increasing the overall performance of the vehicle. In fact, replacing a windscreen with an aero-screen is described by many kit-car owners as the single most significant change you can make to the performance of your vehicle outside of engine modifications.
Installation
The aero-screen is fitted to the scuttle by means of drilling and bolting or riv-nutting into the scuttle. If you are replacing a GRP aero-screen you should be able to use the original holes and simply drill matching holes in the aero-screen. If you are replacing a windscreen then you may need to drill some additional holes and plug or fit the lower mounting hole from the windscreen stays.
The aero-screen is supplied with a rubber edging strip to tidy the joint between the screen and the scuttle.
