Tiger supply rubberised or fibreglass stone chip guards to protect the vulnerable area on the front of the rear arches however neither of these materials quite look the part. By popular demand, we have added these genuine pre-preg carbon fibre arch protectors for the Tiger Supercat to our range.
For the perfectionist kit-car builder, Carbon Mods now offer direct replacement moulded stone-chip guards manufactured from genuine 100% pre-preg carbon fibre meaning you can keep the protection of the original stone-chip guards but get the stunning looks and light weight of genuine carbon fibre. The difference in appearance is immediate and considerable and can only be truly appreciated once the upgrade has been made.
Installation
As a direct replacement part you can be assured that these stone-chip guards can be installed quickly and easily and will perfectly fit your Supercat's arches.
Having removed the old stone-chip guards, peel or rub away any old Tigerseal or Sikaflex (if used) and ensure the surface of your rear arches is smooth to allow a flush fit of the new guards. Keep the smooth appearance of your new stone-chip guards by bonding rather than rivetting or screwing them into place.
When bonding the protectors to your arches it is important to spread the sealant thinly and evenly so that it will not slightly distort the arches in the way a zig-zag bead of sealant will.
Materials and Specification
Manufactured from genuine 100% pre-preg carbon fibre no glass or other reinforcement is used in these stone-chip guards. The 2/2 twill weave fabric is a match for our full range of carbon fibre products and unlike many pre-preg carbon fibre products all Carbon Mods products have a high-gloss surface finish which is resistant to fading and discolouring.
