As 350mm x 960mm sheet is typically enough for a full set of mudflaps for a normal size car. 4x4 vehicles and a small number of other vehicles may require the larger sheet. This is the genuine carbon fibre mud flap material we use to make our range of high-end carbon fibre mud flap kits.
The material uses Carbon Mods' unique C-FLEX technology to create a flexible carbon fibre composite that is highly resistant to chemicals, high temperatures and U.V. light. C-FLEX is also extremely durable with a gloss surface finish that is almost un-scratchable in regular use.
Although developed to withstand the rigours of use as a mud flap material, our Carbon Fibre Mud-Flap Material is also extremely well suited to a variety of applications where the look of genuine carbon fibre is required but a more flexible or durable material is needed. Applications such as floor mats, stone-chip guards, sill protectors and hundreds more are all suitable.
The material can be easily cut with large, high quality scissors (some force will be required) which results in a very satisfactory finish. An even better finish can be achieved by simply sanding the cut edges using a flat sanding block.
Material properties
C-FLEX is a very flexible material, developed to be just slightly stiffer than conventional PVC mud-flaps allowing it to absorb the impact of road debris (thus reducing the chances of stone-chips to your car) whilst holding its shape and not flapping around.
The material is flexible enough to be doubled back on its self and will not break or fracture under any such circumstances. It has a high surface gloss.
Making your own mud flaps
For most applications, one set of mud-flaps can be cut from this 350mm x 960mm sheet of the material.
For some vehicles it is recommended that you create basic brackets to hold the material straight and to spread the load of the fixings (carbon fibre brackets are already included in some of our complete mud flap kits).
