NACA ducts were originally designed by NASA as a very low drag air-intake. When properly installed they allow air to be drawn in through vehicle body panels with minimal disturbance to the air flow. NACA ducts are usually used to provide air for engine, brake and cabin cooling and are commonly installed in bonnets and side panels for this purpose.
The Carbon Mods NACA Duct is designed to the an official NACA specification and is therefore guaranteed to match the performance characteristics of that duct design.
The duct is manufactured from 1mm of 100%pre-preg 2/2 twill 3k carbon fibre making it incredible strong and ultra-light weight. The duct has a high gloss finish on the visible surface.
Aesthetically, the duct displays the characteristic genuine carbon fibre weave on both surfaces that adds the ultimate in performance styling to your vehicle.
Installing the duct
The NACA duct can be installed in a variety of ways depending upon the application.
In all circumstances, the body panel will need to be cut to allow the duct to sit flush on panel surface. Download and print the template below to enable you to cut the correct shape in the body panel.
This smaller NACA duct features a 50mm outlet suitable for connection to 50mm silicone or other hoses to deliver cold to where it is needed. A NACA of this size is typically used to deliver air to braking systems or exhaust manifolds etc.
A larger NACA duct and lower profile NACA vent are also available.
