is the wax flammable?
Carbon Mods Reply: Technically, yes, I guess it would be but I can't think of any situation where this is relevent or an issue. The wax only goes on the mould surface and the mould itself is not likely to be exposed to a naked flame! Also, even several coats of wax would only be a few microns thick. If you meant to ask if it would *melt* at high temperature then yes, it would. The wax is only designed for use as a room temperature release agent (i.e. not suitable for pre-pregs etc.).

how many layers of wax do you recommend on a mould before applying the PVA release agent?
Carbon Mods Reply: 4 or 5 coats of wax would be about right. If you're not using PVA then you might use more but if you're going to PVA too then 4 or 5 coats would be a good amount of wax.
